About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Finance Business Partner within the Operational Finance Team at London Councils. This role is part of a dynamic and collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality financial management services.

Reporting to the Chief Accountant, you will play a key role in the budget setting, monitoring, and financial planning cycle, for an annual budget of £390 million, whilst offering strategic advice to budget holders and ensuring compliance with financial regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Provide financial business partnering to budget holders, including externally funded projects hosted by London Councils
Lead on budget preparation, forecasting, and financial monitoring
Advise on the financial implications of key management decisions
Support the annual accounts closedown process including liaising with auditors
Ensure compliance with internal financial controls and regulations
Build strong working relationships with budget holders and stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will:

Be a part-qualified or fully qualified member of a CCAB or CIMA accountancy body
Have experience managing budgets in a complex, medium or large organisation
Demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills
Be confident in advising non-finance colleagues and influencing decision-making
Have the ability to work collaboratively and build effective relationships
