About the Role
Reporting to the Business Manager, as the UK Field Sales Executive, you'll be responsible for driving sales growth and increasing market share within the independent retail and on-premise sector (wine shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, etc.), by building and maintaining strong relationships with clients. Working collaboratively with our distributor partner you will ensure that our portfolio is effectively represented and distributed in key venues, ultimately enhancing brand visibility and consumer engagement.
You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, educating clients on our products, and delivering exceptional service to achieve and exceed sales targets, contributing to the overall success and profitability of the company.
This role will be offered on an 18-month FTC, with the potential to become a permanent position.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of independent wine retailers and on-premise accounts including restaurants, bars, hotels, and other hospitality venues
- Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure ongoing business
- Negotiate with customers to deliver listings in store and in restaurants
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the on-premise sector
- Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of our wine portfolio, including product history and provenance
- Present wines in an array of scenarios including but not limited to: Trade fairs, private tastings, group tastings and private dinners
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to adapt sales strategies accordingly
- Analyse sales data to identify opportunities for growth and areas for improvement
- Maintain focus on Channel targets and manage our distribution partners to deliver upon agreed objectives
- Prepare regular reports on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback
What We're Looking For
To be successful as the UK Field Sales Executive, you will need to be an excellent communicator with the ability to host events, and you will need to come with 1-3 years' experience within the Wine industry - preferably the luxury sector. You'll also need to be excellent at building strong relationships, and able to collaborate with a range of external and internal stakeholders.
You'll also need:
- High standards of commercial excellence and commitment to deliver results
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a field-based role
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate client needs and events
- WSET Level 3 or similar wine education qualification (Master Sommelier)
- Degree or diploma in Business, Economics or similar discipline, or equivalent, (or the desire for further training if not at Diploma level or higher)
