About the Role
We’re looking for a practical, self-motivated Property and Grounds Maintenance Operative to join our client’s Facilities Management (FM) team. This is a hands-on, mobile role covering a wide variety of indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks across commercial, public sector, and residential sites.
You’ll need to be confident working independently and representing the company professionally while on-site. You’ll travel daily across the South of England (including Herts, Greater London, Kent, Surrey and surrounding counties), with acompany van, fuel, and tools provided.
We’re looking for someone equally comfortable withgeneral property repairs and grounds work,who takes pride in delivering a high standard of finish across every job.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll carry out a broad range of indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks, including:

Minor plumbing (e.g. fixing leaks, replacing taps)

General property repairs (e.g. handles, hinges, fixtures, fittings)

Grounds maintenance (e.g. grass cutting, hedge trimming, clearance)

Light landscaping (e.g. laying patios, gravel areas)

Tidying and preparing void properties
-
Waste removal and general site clearance
You’ll also:

Work independently to tight timeframes and deadlines
-
Visit sites in advance to assess work and provide feedback to the quoting team

Represent the business professionally when liaising with clients on-site

Complete basic documentation, including before/after photos
-
Attend monthly and ad hoc planning meetings at the Hertfordshire head office

Look after tools and equipment and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently
Requirements

Proven experience in both property and grounds maintenance
-
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions

Physically fit and able to carry out manual work (lifting, digging, paving)

Full UK driving licence (essential)

Self-motivated with strong time management
-
Presentable and confident communicating with customers
-
Good spoken and written English
-
Right to work in the UK

Willing to travel daily across the region with early starts/occasional late finishes

Able to attend team meetings in Borehamwood as required
