The Opportunity
A highly respected UK law firm is seeking an ambitious and commercially focused Commercial Real Estate Fee Earner (NQ–3 PQE) to join their specialist Utilities Team, based in a spacious and modern Ipswich office.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in commercial property or conveyancing to carve out a niche career in a thriving team supporting utility infrastructure transactions nationwide.
The Role
The successful candidate will work within a growing, collaborative team currently comprising 15 fee earners and 4 support staff, servicing a range of national clients in the utilities and infrastructure sectors.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Handling high-volume, time-sensitive property transactions
- Managing freehold and leasehold acquisitions for utility infrastructure (e.g. substations, fibre cabinets, gas governors, water assets)
- Drafting and negotiating easements, surrenders, and lease variations
- Title review, due diligence, and Land Registry work
- Liaising with network operators, developers, and local authorities
Clients include independent and statutory utility providers across the electricity, gas, water, fibre, and EV sectors, as well as developer clients engaged in utility installation.
About You
You will be:
- A solicitor, legal executive, or experienced paralegal with 0–3 years’ post-qualification experience
- Experienced in commercial property, infrastructure, or high-volume conveyancing work
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing deadlines
- A collaborative team player who’s commercially aware and proactive
- Interested in developing a career in a niche and in-demand practice area
