As a major operational arm of the Home Office, we play a vital role in supporting the economy and cultural life of the UK.

Workplace Management is an established functional unit in PCCR with a primary remit for enabling the effective delivery of business activities through the provision of a safe and efficient working environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the delivery of key objectives within the Workplace Management team at London and Peterborough including IT systems, Estates Management, Procurement and Business Assurance. Additionally, the successful candidate will also support delivery of the wider Workplace Management responsibilities at the London and Peterborough sites.

The successful candidate will be required to be organised, energetic and have an excellent range of problem-solving skills to achieve a high level of performance and results.

Candidates should be aware that some out of hours working will be required on an ad hoc basis.

PCCR has brought together similar activity across the three service lines into a single function, Cross Cutting Operations (CCO). Workplace Management (WpM) operates as part of the CCO team with the purpose of ensuring staff are equipped with the right workplace tools and can operate within a safe and efficient environment. It has responsibility for the PCCR estate, including the General Register Office at Southport.

Key Responsibilities

The London and Peterborough Workplace Management Teams work together flexibly to deliver across a range of responsibilities. Key responsibilities of the role may include the following:

To support Systems Manager in effectively communicating IT issues to all users impacted by any interruption to IT Systems.
To administer both new and existing IT accounts to support moves, changes and leavers and monitor access levels.
To support the local WpM Estates/Health & Safety teams and Fire Safety, with the day-to-day Facilities Maintenance and Security of the site and also consider training needs as required.
To ensure that appropriate action is initiated, monitored and completed in a timely fashion in response to ad hoc estates issues, raising Work Order Requests and liaising with Home Office Property colleagues.
Support the maintenance, review, development and update of all activities and documentation relating to Business Continuity within the London and Peterborough sites.
To support Team Leader in day-to-day management of post room activities.
To work proactively, flexibly and provide support to other WPM colleagues / areas as required, including ensuring adequate cover of the WPM Team throughout the working day.
Undertake manual handling activities which are required as part of the role.

You may be required to perform other comparable duties, reasonably required by line management within the scope of your grade and within the limits of your skill, competence, and training.

Working Pattern
Due to the business requirements of this role, it is only available on a full-time basis. However, job-share is available.

Due to budgetary constraints, Excess Fares Allowance (EFA) will not be available for this role.
