Associate - Rural & Landed Estates
A leading law firm with a highly respected rural and landed estates practice is seeking a qualified Associate Solicitor with 1–5 years’ PQE to join its London-based real estate team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on some of the most complex and high-value rural property matters in the market, acting for private individuals, family offices, trustees, landed estates, charities, and institutional landowners. This is a rare opportunity to join a collegiate, multidisciplinary team that sits at the intersection of real estate, tax, private client, environmental, and planning law.
The role involves advising on all aspects of rural property transactions, including the sale and purchase of estates, farms, country houses, and equestrian properties. The team is frequently instructed on deals involving heritage assets, listed buildings, agricultural tenancies, rights of way, easements, restrictive covenants, and renewable energy projects. The associate will also support clients on structuring landholdings, succession planning, and governance issues involving trusts, partnerships, and corporate entities.
Applicants should be qualified in England and Wales and have a solid grounding in real estate law, ideally with experience or a demonstrable interest in rural property. The ideal candidate will be technically strong, commercially aware, and able to manage a varied and fast-paced caseload with professionalism and attention to detail. Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, client-focused approach are essential, as is a genuine interest in the rural and agricultural sectors.
This position offers the chance to work on exceptional matters within a well-established and supportive team, offering a competitive salary, excellent training and development, and hybrid working flexibility. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in a practice that handles some of the most prestigious and interesting rural real estate work in the UK.
